First Impressions

First impressions are lasting ones, so it is imperative that your cover letter and resume be in perfect order.  Because these documents are so important, it is essential that they be concise, clear and error-free.  A long cover letter can be interpreted as a resume that is not clear enough to speak for itself.  When it comes to a cover letter, less is more.  It should not be a novel.  A cover letter needs only to capture and express your enthusiasm and get the reader to look at your resume.  Your resume is not intended to list every detail that you did in each position.  It should instead be a highlighted document intended to give the employer a sense of who you are, where you’ve been and where you’re going.  Following these tips should get you the ‘call back’ that you deserve!
